We arrived

We made it to Kenya.  We are staying at the Mayfield Guesthouse in Nairobi for tonight.  We will then fly tomorrow evening to Eldoret. We had great flights! We are very thankful that none of our flights were involved in the issues that happened at Amsterdam airport on Wed.

View from above

We are currently in Amsterdam and one flight away from Kenya. So far our flights have been wonderful. I love the sunrise and sunset views from the plane. It makes me wonder how beautiful Heaven must be if we can see this from a plane!
Sunrise as we fly into Amsterdam.    I love these clouds
The group. Dr. Lemons, Stephany, Cindy, and myself
Sunset as we leave the US. We were on the east side of the plane so we didn't see the sun actually go down but we had a neat view of the moon!

Thank you

I can not even begin to thank you all enough for the donations we received for our trip to africa. Your generosity leaves me speechless. My suitcase weighed 52 lbs of Donations. That is awesome . . . . thank you so much!

Clark's goodbye

Clark decided to tell me goodbye by eating my snacks for the plane. I had no idea he could get into my backpack!  Im going to miss you too Clark!

Ralph

This is my favorite pictures of Ralph.

Go Reds!

We traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio for the Reds vs Cubs series.  This is our 3rd annual trip, and it was a fun filled weekend like usual! On Saturday the Reds won the first game, Cubs won the night game, and then on Sunday the Reds won again. We all traveled in the awesome white van - thanks to Kathie's dad - and this year we stayed across the river in Covington, Kentucky.

All of us at the night game.

Darin was so excited that they were giving away Barry Larkin hats to the fans.

Getting a picture with the statues right outside of the Great American Ball Park!

We walked across the bridge after the game. What an awesome view.

Garrett- Our Groundhog

I've always wanted a groundhog. Well this summer, Garrett joined our family. Crazyman found him on the road and brought him to me. He was very tiny and we had to feed him with a syringe for the first few weeks. As he grew, we gave him fruits and veggies as well as clover and rabbitt food. After about two months of having him, he decided to start using his teeth! A few chewed up cords, plants, and yes - our wedding album (we were married on Groundhogs day, so it was only appropriate) and we decided he would do just fine in the wild! We had a lot of fun with him!!
This is how small he was when we first got him.

He loved the woodchips, he would burrow himself under all of them.

He fit in my pocket and stayed there.

Just a funny picture of him!!

The Baby Fawn

After work one day, Dad and Landon called me to quickly head over to the field where they were mowing hay. When I got there, they showed me the baby fawn they had found in the field. I stayed with it for a while before it's mother came looking for it. I let it go, and a few hours later they were both running together in the field.  Dad seemed to think it was born that day because its hooves were so soft, and it could barely walk. This was the first time I had ever held a baby fawn!

Clark and the hummingbird!

We had a hummingbird caught in the rafters of our garage this summer, so I climbed up, caught him, and placed him outside on a lid filled with cold hummingbird food. The hummingbird sat there for around 15 min drinking the food and just looking around. I decided to get Clark, our new adopted skunk, and see what they would do with each other. Clark could have cared less about the hummingbird, he went straight for the sugar water. As for the hummingbird, I think he was just happy to be alive and not in the rafters of the garage anymore!

Carnival Cruise

In April, we set sail on the Carnival Glory for a wonderful Western Caribbean Cruise. We left from Miami and visited Cozumel, Belize, Mohogany Bay-Isla Roatan, and Grand Cayman. We were so excited to travel with some of our best friends; Dustin and Jenny, Shonk and Jamie, and Brittany and Cody. We had tons of fun and made so many memories!

St. Louis

In February, we traveled to St. Louis, Missouri to celebrate our 4th anniversary. We stayed at Union Station and had a great time visiting the Gateway Arch, City Museum, and Anheuser-Busch factory. Even though it was the beginning of February, the weather was amazing!
