1st day of Preschool

Clark enjoyed his first day of preschool! He had a welcome sign on the door, he enjoyed the kids, and they even fed him Cheerios and goldfish! A successful first day of school :)

Junk Mail.......Oh the conversations it can lead to

Lately, I have been getting random junk mail about babies. No..... I'm not pregnant, and No....... I did not sign up for these magazines, samples, and helpful baby tips. If signing me up for this stuff is my mom's way of trying to get a grandchild quicker, then Mom.........This is only going to make it longer. I feel bad for the mailman, he is probably wondering why he has not seen a child running around by now since he has delivered all this stuff.

Anyways, the other day I had received a rather large box. I was excited at first thinking I received a special package in the mail, only to find out it was formula from Similac. Definitely not needed in this household! Darin came home and asked what was in the box. This was our conversation:

Darin: I saw the big box you got in the mail, what was it?
Ashley: Formula from Similac, I have no idea why we keep getting this stuff.
Darin: Oh, I thought it was one of those "boob milker" things.
Ashley: Ummm, a what?
Darin: A "boob milker"
Ashley: I still don't understand.
Darin: You know, a "boob milker" like pregnant women use.

At this point I can hardly contain myself with laughter because he is being so serious.

Ashley: You mean a breast pump?
Darin: Yeah whatever they are called. You knew what I was talking about.
Ashley: Well the other problem is that pregnant women do not have to pump.
Darin: Oh they don't?

Ill end it there, lets just say we have a long way to go before thinking about having kids!

Taco Salad Success

I decided to give my trifle bowl a second try ( I've only had it for five years......I have no idea why I now have an obsession with using it!) I made a layered taco salad in it for a sports themed baby shower. I'd have to say it turned out better than the dessert I tried for Easter! It was definitely easier to make than I thought it would be, and it was rather tasty!

Grundy Mountain Mission School Choir

The Grundy Mountain Mission School Choir from Grundy, Virginia is coming to Indiana!

Where: Sterling Christian Church
When: Sunday April, 21st
Time: 5:30pm
Who: All are invited to come!

I traveled to Grundy back in December, 2012 to deliver Christmas presents to the kids. It was an amazing and rewarding trip. We had the chance to hear the choir practice and they were awesome! I can not wait to hear their concert. There are pictures from that trip in one of my December posts.

If you would like more info, please email me or send me a message. Hope to see some of you there!

Can You Tell The Difference?

Walter is our bloodhound, and Oscar is my mom's bloodhound. They are brothers, but Oscar is actually three years older than Walt. When they are together, they are hilarious. Most of the time they run off into the woods and drag stuff up in the yard. Other times, they act like they are fighting and one will lay in the front yard with the other in the back yard! They love riding in the back of the truck - slobber flies everywhere, and their ears flap in the wind:) Sometimes it's even difficult to tell them apart especially if they don't have their collars on. Funny dogs...... but we love them! Can you tell them apart?

First Time for Everything....... Even These Recipes!

I enjoy cooking very much. Since we do not have many restaurants near us, I get the chance to cook often. Pinterest has been a great place to find recipes, and I recently had a few that I wanted to try. We celebrated Easter at our house this year, and it was a perfect time to try some new desserts. With spring finally arriving, it is also time to start grilling! Yum:)
