"That Book was Great"

Over the last few days, we have entertained the children with different activities - balls, reading books, coloring and stickers books, jump ropes, singing, dancing, and more. The kids appreciate anything and everything we can give them or do for them because they have so little. Their smiles are huge and their hearts are even bigger. I can not even begin to count the number of hugs and thank you's I have received these last two days!

We brought almost 200 books with us. I'm almost certain many if not all of the children have never opened a new book. We read them a story and then let them look through books on their own. They were fascinated by them. If they could not read the English, other children would read to them. My favorite moment: when it was time to put the books back, one little boy handed me a book about pandas and said, "That book was great." Thank you Random House books in Crawfordsville, Indiana for your donation!

Laura and Micah brought along coloring and sticker activity books.  The kids really enjoyed getting the chance to color and Play with stickers. I think there were stickers on each of us by the time we left! We also took jump ropes to let the kids play with. Jumping together was a huge hit!

Anna brought inflatable balls that the kids enjoyed. Some just held the ball, others tossed it, some liked to let the air out over and over again! I have had great enjoyment spending time with the children and just showing them the someone cares and they are loved.

What a great day, with wonderful kids, and an awesome team!
