Random Pics from Uganda

These are just some random pictures that detail the day in the life of the Ugandan people. It's so hard to explain what life is like here. Sometimes pictures can help!

These ladies sell clothing to make a living. I had the chance to talk to them while fetching water one day.
Soccer fields (or Football as they call it) are a little different than what we are used to in America!
Children carry children.

Security guards are common. We had one every night.
I've never seen so much coal in my life!
Toys can be anything from old Cd's to container lids to used wrappers. At least we were able to give these little guys a ball!

Small stores like this one are common about everywhere you turn around. It's similar to a small convenient store. You can buy sodas to toilet paper to brooms and popcorn! They always have a gate like this one and the owner gets the items for you and hands them through the gate.

Scaffolding is made of eucalyptus tree trunks and branches. It looks so dangerous for workers to stand on, let alone do construction work!

Last but not least..........we found some Packer fans!!!! Okay, I know they are probably not cheeseheads, and they probably have no idea that Mr. Rodgers neighborhood is Green Bay, Wisconsin, and they probably have no idea what Packers even means but hey.............. GB is represented in Uganda!!! GoPackGo.
On another note with this picture, laundry hanging is everywhere. Washing is done by hand in plastic basins, and then the laundry is hung to dry. If there is no line, then I saw the clothes spread out on the ground to dry. I never once heard of or saw a washing machine.
